As you may or may not know Tom Hanks is the executive producer of the HBO show 'Big Love', which is about polygamy. It has recently been announced that 'Big Love' will be showing the Temple ceremonies on the show, which HBO of course has promised will be accurately portrayed in the correct context. How they plan to accomplish that when they will have to rely on ex-communicated members for the context and accuracy is beyond me.

This is an issue that Brad and I have been discussing quite a bit lately, well all the recent attacks on the Church. Brad wondered how he should write about this issue without attacking specific people (thus not sinking to their level of abuse). I think he did a good job here.
Yesterday, in RS, we had a lesson on peacemaking, lesson 29 in the Joseph Smith manual. I thought it was a great chapter for today's turbulence in the world, and attacks on the Church. As our current prophets and Joseph Smith have taught us, we are to be peacemakers, rather than getting up in arms about controversial issues and attacks. There are some really fantastic examples in that chapter as well as in the Book of Mormon.
